Teresa Rodriguez hosts “Aquí y Ahora”, a prime-time magazine series on Univision. This program presents stories on a number of important issues facing Hispanic Americans, as well as interviews with leading Latino newsmakers.
Prior to joining Univision, Rodriguez was an anchor at the NBC-owned station WTVJ-Channel 4 in Miami. While working at WTVJ, she co-anchored the station’s noontime newscast as well as a daily 5 p.m. news program. As part of the Channel 4 news team, she received the prestigious George Foster Peabody Broadcasting Award for the station’s widely acclaimed Hurricane Andrew coverage.


Prior to joining WTVJ, Rodriguez was the executive producer, creator and host of Univision’s “Portada”, a magazine-style news program that aired throughout the continental United States and in 18 Latin American countries. From 1982 – 1987, Rodriguez was the main news anchor for the Spanish International Network (SIN), where she became the first woman ever to host a national prime time Spanish-language newscast. While in this position, she covered a number of important national and international news stories such as the visit to the United States by Pope John Paul II and the 1984 presidential election.


Rodriguez has won 11 Emmys for features, special and investigative reports. She has also been honored with numerous other awards, including the ACCA and ACE awards. She is the former chairperson and founding member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
