Jessi Losada is currently the sports anchorman for Telemundo Sports and recently completed his 25th year in Spanish broadcasting. Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida, since the age of three, Jessi made his residence in southern California for 14 years, where he built his career with the Univision Television Network. In 1980 he produced and anchored Univision’s first National Sports Program live from Los Angeles. Then in 1981 at the age of 23, he was named Co-Host and Co-Executive Producer of Mundo Latino, the Network’s first live daily “Good Morning America” type program. Jessi remained on this show until 1987 when he returned to Sports full time on Univision. In January of 1991, Jessi and Univision Sports moved to its state of the art facilities in Miami, Florida.
Jessi has participated in Univision’s World Cup coverage since 1982, including the 1990 Italy World Cup, which received an Emmy Award for special coverage on Univision. The coverage included bringing in stories on location from Milan, Rome and various other cities, and hosting in studio. In 1994’s World Cup, Jessi was part of the again Emmy Award winning team that broke Nielsen ratings records and was widely recognized as the best coverage of the World Cup offered in the United States.

In 1992 Jessi won an Emmy Award for his poignant story on major leaguer Rafael Palmeiro and his reunion with his brother from Cuba whom he had not seen in over 25 years. Jessi’s experiences in sports telecasts include being the Spanish Voice of the Los Angeles Rams Radio Network from 1984 through 1987. He has also anchored five pre-Super Bowl specials for Univision, one of which earned an Emmy Award for best pre-game program. In addition, he has also appeared as Color Commentator on a number of Los Angeles Raiders preseason games that were televised by KMEX Channel 34 in Los Angeles.

Jessi also worked with the CBS Hispanic Radio Network, on numerous projects ranging from NFL playoffs and Super Bowls to World Cup and soccer coverage. Currently he is also working with Latino Broadcasting Company.
Since he signed with Telemundo Network in May of 1999, Jessi have hosted “Titulares Telemundo”, a weekly Sports Highlight show; “Boxeo Telemundo”, a monthly live Boxing Show; the “Halftime Highlights” segment on three live soccer matches every week; the Prime Time Sports Briefs and the monthly “Los Triunfadores”, one hour Sports Personality Profiles program.
Jessi is also currently the Play-by-Play man on TNT Latin America’s weekly live NBA game telecast in over 35 Spanish-speaking countries around the globe.
